From Member to Secretary: Kirsty Thomas and Think Big Agency's Journey with AMBCWA

Introduction

When I joined the Australia Malaysia Business Chamber Western Australia (AMBCWA) at the start of 2025, I knew straight away that this was a community I wanted to be deeply involved in. A room full of driven, genuine, community-minded business people who actually show up for each other. That is exactly the kind of environment that Think Big Agency was built for.

So when I was appointed as Secretary of AMBCWA at the beginning of 2026, it felt like a natural next step in a journey that has already meant so much to me personally and professionally.

Why I Joined AMBCWA in 2025

The Australia Malaysia Business Chamber WA exists to support trade and investment between Western Australia and Malaysia, and to foster friendship and cultural understanding between both business communities. Being appointed as Secretary of AMBCWA at the start of 2026 is genuinely one of the things I am most proud of. It is a role I do not take lightly. As Secretary, I am committed to supporting the chamber's mission, helping to keep things running smoothly, and making sure our members feel connected, informed, and valued.

The AMBCWA committee is made up of some truly impressive and dedicated people, and being part of that team is something I am incredibly grateful for. We all bring different skills and perspectives to the table, and that is exactly what makes the chamber so dynamic.

For me, this role is also an extension of everything Think Big Agency stands for. Showing up with purpose, building meaningful connections, and helping communities grow with clarity and confidence.
